Hunters can apply online for managed deer hunts beginning July 1

The application is online at mdc.mo.gov/managedhunt. Interested hunters can also preview hunt details and find more information on the hunts themselves here.

Details about managed hunts can also be found in MDC’s "2023 Fall Deer & Turkey Hunting Regulations and Information" booklet, which is available starting in early July at MDC offices and nature centers, permit vendors and online at mdc.mo.gov.

There are over 100 managed deer hunts available throughout the state using techniques from archery to muzzle loading to modern firearms. The hunts will begin in mid-September and last until mid-January. They will take place at conservation areas, state and other parks, national wildlife refuges and other public areas.

Some of these hunts are specifically held for youth or people with disabilities.

The selected hunters are chosen via a weighted random drawing.

Results will be made known from Aug. 15 to Jan. 15. Applicants selected will get area maps and other hunting information through mail.
